This is all over the local news here. The part that many news sources are omitting is that the kid made the first move by approaching it and petting it. Don't do that. Deer will fuck you up. Or use you as a salt lick. Also, from what I've heard the deer seem to be a bit numerous this year. I've seen 'em roadside deep in Vancouver and Portland. Just the other night I saw one skittering nervously around a trailer park, obviously lost.

The kid made the first move by approaching it and petting it. Don't do that. Deer will fuck you. Deer seemed pretty polite to me. It was nuzzling his ear in an obvious attempt at foreplay. I bet it would have given the kid a reach-around during the act as well.

I recall reading once (can't find this info now) that more people are injured by deer than any other wild animal. I suspect that this includes vehicle accidents, but also "Go stand over there, Timmy, while I take this picture" incidents.
