I'm sorry Phasuma. Reading my comment post-posting made me realise it sounded very snarky towards the post. I did not mean for it to be so. I mean to criticise Guiness World records and their banality. I mean, what's next? The Guiness world record for most tissues used by some dude sneezing during a Ramones concert? Bah.

I like how the 10XL t-shirt was made by that company with the saint bernard dog logo, because they have a store in Kittery, Maine that has the trashiest t-shirts I have ever seen. Loud graphics and confrontational messages. My personal favorite during my visit was "Yeah I came home half drunk. I ran out of money." I would just about pee my pants laughing if I saw someone wearing a 10XL version of that.

I mean, what's next? The Guiness world record for most tissues used by some dude sneezing during a Ramones concert? Bah. Bah? The Ramones are 3/4 dead. If they came back to life and did a concert it would be nothing to sneeze at which would in turn make sneezing quite an achievement and thus worthy of inclusion in the great book of worldly records.

Here's full-body picture of him on Letterman (via). Perhaps embarrassingly, I found this mildly interesting, funny, and even poignant. I do wear a lot of T-shirts, but only one at a time. This is like a horrific vision across the time dimension, a bit like seeing someone together with all the trash they produce over a year.

This is hardly the most ridiculous world record in the Guinness book, btw. IMO, that title is held by "farthest marshmallow nose blow and catch" (4.96 meters).

I remember listening to the radio while they were doing this and almost went to see but even I have better things to do. They had medical personel on hand to monitor his vitals and cut him out if he had problems.

I could very easily be wrong on this, but I bet with that many layers he could take a .22 round pretty easily. I'd love to see THAT video. Not out of any desire to see him hurt, I just think it'd be hilarious to fend off a handgun with nothing but T-shirts.

I could very easily be wrong on this, but I bet with that many layers he could take a .22 round pretty easily. Twelve pine boards will not stop a .223 round.

Three Blind Mice, .223 != .22. Not even close, despite what the numbers make it seem. I'm talking about a .22 pistol, not the high velocity military assault rifle that fires a .223. On that page, the .22 stopped after 6 boards. That sounds like a lot, but 150 layers of cotton is going to be MUCH denser than spaced out pine boards. I still think it's entirely possible.
