I'm actually in the process of making some, abeit from small pastic canisters and paint, more akin to the ones on the brass goggles blog than the fancy ones posted to flickr.

I have a deep bizarre love for goggles. I have collected many different kinds over the years, and I actually have a really cool military version of the brass ones pictured in the Flickr link. And damn, those brass goggles are spectacular. I love seeing something masterfuly handmade, particularly when it's something so pointlessly and wonderfully archaic. It makes me long for a lathe... and the knowledge of how to use a lathe safely. (I've also built Science!'s infrared ones, which are pretty neat.)

darkripper, that MP5K is really nifty. What I find interesting though is that a number of the parts that are normally plastic (both grips for instance.) here appear to be metal. I have to wonder if they painted/ leafed them or actually had the parts remade in metal then scrolled. Based on the fact that the coloration is slightly different, I'm going to guess that they leafed the plastic, but I would love to know for sure.

Mike, who made these gorgeous goggles, came over today and I got to wear them. I love the lenses; everything looks beautiful through them.
