You are an asteroid that has seen many of your brethren decimated by the evil spaceship in the original Asteroid's game. The loss of your rock-fellows has hurt and scarred you deeply. Your rocky heart has ached for vengenance.

Your time has come.

Just as when Nelson Mandela was elected president after being a political for dozens of years, I weep.

A wonderful idea. Two nits: 1st, it shouldn't reset the ships after you die and 2nd: it should spawn smaller ai-controlled asteroids each time the player (or one of the AIs) gets hit.

That is so awesome.

I can't help but feel that it should be better (the game, not the post).

Let's hope this is the start of a trend. I, for one, would love to stick it to Pac-Man. Waka-waka, my ass.

I'm in a agreement with jonson, its a good concept but the game play is, kind of, meh.

Hahaha. This is amazing. Judging by the Top Scores, though, it seems that it's rather difficult to stay alive long enough to exact a proper revenge.

Yeah the game could be better... but it had me by the heartstrings as soon as the boop... boop... boop started.

Bless the concept. And many thanks to the fine folks who did this for nothing. I started to get weepy as I got smaller. Nice empathy for asteroids...no small creative accomplishment.

-now someone piggyback on this idea and make it a little better; what jedicus said-

Yeah, it stinks for gameplay, but I guess that's not the point. As a work of art, it's priceless.

Reminds me of Steel Defence Commander, where the idea of a shoot-em-up type vertical scroller is similarly reversed: you control the defense mechanisms and fighter waves that try to stop the single, courageous spaceship that attempts to break through your defenses.

“Robert. Robert look! Do you see that? Did you just see that asteroid? Look! Quick, look! That asteroid just took out another spaceship!”

“When was the last time you had a vacation Nick...I just took my vacation, maybe when we get back to the stardock, you can think about a vacation...you know, back on Earth.”

“God damn it, Robert. Where'd it go? That asteroid, it has a will! A will! Give me the firing controls! Quick, quick! Where are you—you sonofa—”

Neato! Another good game from the same pages is Pac-xon , which is a Qix/Pac-Man hybrid. There are other cool ones too, but I'm going to play more Pac-xon instead of linking to them.

Ha - that's pretty amusing. A looooong time ago (in the late 1990s, before Flash was used for web games, and we had to use ancient tools like Director 6.0) I created Yar's Revenge II, (for the Tripod.com Toybox) "in which Yar gets back at all the other more popular Atari 2600 characters". Maybe I should have called it "Revenge of Yar's Revenge"... anyway, play value may be limited or nonexistent on your current supercomputer - it was meant more as a gag, than a game.

Obsessed with strategy of turning the ship up and flying out of the screen so I re-enter from the bottom. This combined with a slight angle so I whiz from left to right turns me into the ultimate death star. Hitting 1000 points each time!!
