That's kind of what I thought, pracowity, but I'm paraphrasing from the actual article.

Cutler said the company will continue to explore alternatives to closure, but he declined to characterize the likelihood that talks with potential buyers or investors would prove fruitful.

"Alternatives to closure" sounds like some kind of psychotherapy thing. I'm pretty he means closing.

The brand must be worth something. I met some of the people that worked there. They were really sharp. It makes me wonder if it just does take longer to become more profitable on the web.
