From the description in soundofsuburbia's "raise you" link: "This video was transferred from a VHS promo copy sent to a radio station. The Hi-Fi audio track was maintained and there are no logos/bugs on the screen."

Compare this to the thin line of gray ditch-mud that runs down midtown New York City curb gutters after a rain in the summer. Or, perhaps, the taste of raw sea urchin. Take a bite of either. Discuss. posted by nj_subgenius at 4:42 PM on December 19, 2006
I couldn't listen to the woodpecker but I made it all the way through Edelweiss due to cleavage and the catchy tune. posted by Dillenger69 at 4:45 PM on December 19, 2006
Suburbia wins. Hands down.
And, (though the cute girl helps), I did almost enjoy the second woodpecker from space video. posted by Debaser626 at 6:27 PM on December 19, 2006

Wow! I'd totally forgotten about that. One or both of the dudes rapping on that were students at my college when I was there. Of course we all thought it was the greatest song ever.
Somehow an mp3 of this song washed up on my computer in the haze of the late 90's and their college-dorm networks. I loathed it but could never get rid of it. The first ten seconds made my stomach turn, my face twist. Whenever I would feel numb, I would play the beginning of the song, just to feel something, anything.
Somehow the video makes the song better, not worse. posted by bicyclefish at 11:54 PM on December 19, 2006
Life's too short to devote an hour and a half to watching this video. I realize it's actually only 3 minutes long, but time is relative... posted by wsg at 1:16 AM on December 20, 2006
