Heat Miser was the first thing I looked for too. I was hoping they had the Dick Van Dyke Show's Christmas episode, which was fave of mine growing up. Although I haven't seen it in 20 years, so I'm not sure how it stands up. I can't believe they have the worst Christmas show ever - Star Wars Christmas special - that was when I abandoned the Star Wars franchise and moved on to buying records.

Did you see the live action version of The Year Without a Santa Claus on network television last week? I did, and I was pretty excited. I had recently been fantasizing about a movie version with Will Ferrell, Jack Black, or Nathan Lane as the Miser brothers. The television movie used Michael McKean and Harvey Fierstein. McKean was solid. Fierstein's voice is just gone. They removed all of the songs except for the Heat Miser/Snow Miser songs. It tried for a bit of social commentary. But it really was not very good. I was disappointed. And now my hopes for a movie version have been dashed.

wow, What a great collection. Thanks dhammond. I love the Grinch. That rascal Ali G with an awful laugh track. Some are darkly fascinating, like the painfully thin Karen Carpenter vid and some nice nostalgia stuff like olde tyme Davey and Goliath.

It's interesting that everyone raves about the Heat Miser/Snow Miser as their favorite R-B special. I've NEVER seen it. I don't think it's aired regularly in my lifetime. And it's wierd because all those other specials are like second nature.
