tofz4u's a prodigious photographer of Paris Street Art. His photos are worth checking out. Some other street artist favourites: Mesnager, L'Atlas, Space Invader.

The sorta-stylized copyright symbol (see here, from some blog and possibly not in the flickr pool) is wonderfully, subtly ireverrent. Or maybe I'm looking too hard.

thisjax: several copyright symbolled cats are in the flickr links. Deconstruction of the icon? I don't know, but I thought it was funny.grapefruit: meaning, uh, well... something to do with irreverant youth, archetypal cats who Know things (cf.Lewis Carrol), and whatever else the artist had in mind at the time. Seriously, how do you explain this kind of meme? Think of Kilroy-was-here in the 40s, what did that mean? This is a you-had-to-be-there thing that will probably be appropriated by commercial forces soon, thus the edge behind the copyright symbol.

Cool. I have a few photos of this cat from my visit to Paris a couple of years ago. I noticed it in a few places and loved the design. I'm very, very tempted to get a small tattoo of the image... Thanks, CCBC.
