Voice of the White House: (scroll down) "The Pentagon brass have nicknamed him Caligula and there is a very strong possibility of open revolt from that sector."

This post was deleted for the following reason: you did not really just link to your own metafilter post form two days ago in this post, you did not seriously do that ... did you?

Wow.

TBRNews has at least one quarter the credibility of Capitol Hill Blue.

I've never seen this site before, but it looks like unsubstantiated ranting by random people. I don't see that this source is any better than the Wikipedia they blast so thoroughly.

Obviously you must like the site, or you wouldn't post it. But it looks rather loony to me. Am I misreading?

it's clearly bullshit because truth must be much scarier, but on the other hand, if Israel nukes Iran, what the White House does or does not do becomes irrelevant

You know, I'm not normally the kind of person to comment in a thread someone has made and go all out and say that a post is awful. But damn, I agree. This post is really bad. You can do better augustweed.

Stop making me laugh out loud, Steven C. Den Beste, you're making my world-view get all mixed up.

There's an interesting story in what's going to go down if (as seems likely) this political season starts with an immediate, serious congress vs. president conflict over this alleged "surge." This is not that story.

Even better, we're linking to our own posts on the front page. I really liked your previous post, but this gets flagged. Sorry, augustweed. :(

There's nothing in the first link that isn't in the last, so that leaves us with the Bush/Caligula Photoshop. This bodes well.

Nice post but TBR is actually The Barnes Review, a crackpot Holocaust denial group that itself deserves a thread. Check out this bit on Wikipedia.

On the "About us" page, the site owner gives his name as "Walter Storch". Googling for him turns up some interesting stuff:

A blog from 2005: I checked the comments and someone said the guy behind the site went by various aliases and had been soundly discredited. She suggested a Google search on the name "Walter Storch". When I saw the link to a story on "Karl Rove Seen at Homosexual Orgies", I knew where we were headed.

Also a later post from that same site.

Daily Kos member, 2005 has a lot of interesting stuff, including the fact that "Walter Storch" also goes by the name "Peter Stahl". Apparently his real name is "Gregory Douglas".

The Left Coaster talks about how TBR News claims that the Bush administration has deliberately underreported American deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Still does, apparently; this page says 7,000 dead, about twice the official number.)

Fact is, this guy makes Truthout look good.

Christ augustweed, did you look around that site at all? Creepy neonazi shit, holocaust denial, obsessions with Hitler, the Gestapo, and Germany's "faked" war crimes. Pretty fucking disturbing, and not at all credible.

This post should be deleted.

Damn, matteo beat me to the Israel Plans Nuclear Strike on Iran. I guess that explains why Bush has that second carrier group in the Gulf...wouldn't want Iran or any Arab nation to have any notion of retaliating once Israel gets all fissile in their face. Now, what will be the "instigator" scenario that gives Israel the green light to do this?

Bingo! February 2005, TBRNEWS, "Voice of the White House":
Fat Karl Rove was seen by one of my people entering a private homosexual orgy at a five-star Washington hotel over the Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) weekend last year. ... The report that came back was that Fat Karl greatly enjoyed the supervision of a certain hairy 350-lb. Leather Dominator, who had won the Miss Virginia Daddy Bear title at the MAL festivities.

Many viewers have thought that because "Old Charlie" the town drunk would usually be thrown through the saloon doors (or window), bounce off a support post, fall face forward over the hitching rail, spin around and land on his face or back at least once an episode, he was actually a young stuntman in "old man" makeup. In reality "Charlie" was ace stuntman Harvey Parry, who at that time was 65 years old and had been a stuntman for almost 45 years.

Who knew?

Fact is, this guy makes Truthout look good.

Fact is, as that the bulk of the links at Truthout are repostings of stories and opinion pieces from such crazed Holocaust deniers like Richard A. Clarke, Paul Krugman, Bill Moyers, the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Time magazine, Newsweek, Mother Jones and so forth, Truthout looks pretty good. A link to a New York Times article at Truthout is still the same story as the original article in the New York Times.
