Yvonne Decarlo has died. Despite an extensive filmography, she will probably always be remembered as Lily Munster.

She was hot in The Ten Commandments. Like, burning bush hot! Not to be anal, but I see her name spelled 'DeCarlo' and 'De Carlo' on several official websites...but never 'Decarlo.'

A complete frigg'n HOTTIE!
Would it be sick for me to admit that I thought she mega-HAWT as Lily Munster too? Let's just say she helped a young boy become a man.

She was unspeakably hot in The Captain's Paradise.

National Kato, my bad. I was distracted, or something. Twice.

Thought she was already dead, but I guess I was mixing her up with Carolyn Jones.

She starred in Criss Cross, a seminal film noir, with Burt Lancaster. Directed by Robert Siodmak. 1949. And yes, she was a beauty.

She was HOT in a way that few woman in Hollywood can claim in today's world. Be in peace, Yvonne.

Wait a minute... on Wikipedia it say Al "Grandpa" Lewis was a year younger than her! Huh?
Ok, nevermind... why was I trusting wikipedia? His old website says he was 95 when he died last year. Those wacky actors and their crazy make-em-up birthdays!

In Hollywoodland, makeup and hairstyles change, but not much else: Yvonne DeCarlo vs. Catherine Zeta-Jones.

I always preferred the Munsters to the Aadams family, and always felt persecuted for that preference.

I liked the Munsters better too. A lot better. I loved Lily Munster but I always thought Morticia was... well... snotty, cold & self-absorbed. Lily was a caring wife, daughter & mother, while Morticia was busy ignoring her kids & tolerating Gomez's need to kiss her arms.
So all we have left now are Eddie and the koach. Oh, and the Waxahachie, Texas Munster Mansion!

Well the Addam's family has the New Yorker pedigree but I couldn't agree more. I have never watched a whole Addam's family episode or the movies. Most of the Munsters I have seen 2-3 times.
There was a remake of the Munsters called the New Munsters maybe - that was possibly the worst show ever made.

Alas, for me, the Munsters came from a channel that was too distant for decent reception. I was more the Adam's Family fan, without oppurtunity to properly judge.
I've never heard anything about Yvonne de Carlo. I can tell you though, Carolyn Jones was very down-to-earth, warm and friendly, in real life.
Sorry to hear of Yvonne de Carlo's passing.

I've heard that about Carolyn Jones too. I liked her! (Loved her on Batman!) It was Morticia that bugged me. I don't know why. That was just my impression as a kid, for whatever wacked out kid reason.

Although I enjoyed both programs, I preferred The Munsters for two reasons: the theme song is better and the Munster family had two awesome hot rods.

Ms. de Carlo should also be remembered for creating the role of Carlotta in Stephen Sondheim's musical Follies, where she introduced the showbiz anthem "I'm Still Here."
