My Mom Can Kick Your Mom's Ass

Helmut Newton's "Big Nudes"[NSFW] (previously) was the object of my search when I stumbled upon The Amazon Connection, dedicated to Amazon Warrior Women in history, and present-day embodiment of the type. Oh yeah, and Pippy Longstocking kicks ass!

I am so sad that I couldn't watch the Pippi clips on that site. I totally agree, KTLA's Pippi weekends ROCKED!

Certainly got the boys' attention...

The Amazon Connection site is (besides being quaintly Web 1.0 beta) conspicuously lacking in modern day rollergirls, who are some of the strongest, smartest and most independent-minded athletes out there today.

According to legend, the Amazons would cut off their right breast so that they might handle a bow easier. Now that is dedication.

Big nudes.

Small pictures.

ab3, I wouldn't want Tara Armsov, for instance, after my heinie. Those rollergirls are some mighty mean lassies.

Excellent work, s-licker!

maryh - neither would I, but then if she was I'd just give her a major penalty and send her to the box. I'm a ref for the Big Easy Rollergirls. :)

Excellent stuff. Strong women are fantastic, and a particular weakness of mine.

ab3- You're doing the Lord's Work* in a might zesty sport!

Sorry, rollergirls seem a little bit poser-ish and trendy. Blasphemy, I know. How about women in real sports? I, for one, am about to get my black belt in tae kwon do. Be afraid. Be very afraid...

Use tags, for god's sake. It helps when searching.

Women athletes...sigh.

Mumble years ago, I routinely ate breakfast at the women’s athletic dorm of my university. I was friendly with one swimmer who, IIRC, was three-tenths of a second off of making the Olympic team, and what I remember best about her was the Garfield slippers and the housecoat (!) she’d wear to the dining room to have her oatmeal and her banana at 0600. I used to flirt with her: “Gee, you’re cute when you’re sleepy!"

There was a post here two or three years ago about female bodybuilders -- it made me understand that for either gender, there can be too much of a good thing.

The Gladiatrix in History pages linked from that great Lothene site are nicely done. Thanks for this.

rollergirls seem a little bit poser-ish and trendy.

I've never seen that, and I've been supporting the Carolina team since they started up three years ago. They're anything but "poser-ish and trendy." They're just cool women doing something they like.

apparently recent studies posit that the Amazons (or tribes where women fought) did not cut off the breast. It's far more likely that they simply breastfed from one side to ensure the swollen milk gland would not get in the way of their dominant hand for fighting. It makes no sense to incur the inevitably high toll sepsis would take on skilled warriors, not to mention the downtime.
But all of that is pure speculation as we will never have primary sources for this (in other words early anthropology)

Sorry, rollergirls seem a little bit poser-ish and trendy.

I'll give you that there are those that seem that way - but I've found that the four three-hour practices a week thing seems to weed out those posers, until you're left with a bunch excellent female atheletes who happen to have a few tattoos and some hipster cred to spare.

that being said, black belts in karate are pretty cool too. I am VERY afraid. :)

I'm not afraid. I have a high tolerance for getting the snot beaten out of me in the name of foreplay. ;o) I was raised not to ever hit women, but..."not by strength; by guile."

I wish ESPN2 would start showing roller derby. I wonder if that's a good place to go meet unattached female fans?

My little sisters just got into Pippi Longstocking and she is all they can talk about. Does my heart good!

mediareport and ab3, not the women themselves, but the "sport," which to me seems more like a fad.

I am a little disturbed that this is billed as sexy Pippi flamenco dances.
