inturnaround - Thanks for those links! That MOTU stage show looks better than the Dolph Lundgren movie, at least. I can still remember a boyhood friend of mine digging in his heels over "coming out of their shells" - while I was gradually getting over the turtles, he was asking his mom for tickets to the ninja concert. "They rocked, I don't care what anyone says!"

Looks to me like a three-to-five year-old's idea of a rockin' good time. Utterly diabetes-inducing to any adult, but almost certainly a well-designed, tweaked-to-max performance spectacle for little ones. We're several orders of magnitude too cynical around here.

Its nice to see that there arent two people in those suits because it would just be incredibly distracting to think of how someone got such a shitty job in life and how long they think they can play the ass end of a colorful pony before completeling losing it and literally taking a dump on stage in front of 10,000 children. The suits big head probably lets the actor stand fully upright in it and leaves lots of room for the electronics to move the mouth and eyelids. Its a bigger uglier version of what disney is doing with their mouse heads. (video link)

My Little Pony? GWAR?! Flashbacks from my childhood and my youth, respectively - my circle found Gwar amusing. I also find the whole resurgance of My Little Pony bizarre - I was playing with them when I was in grade school, and yet they (and Strawberry Shortcake) are still around. If I had held onto my original stash I woulda been rich, I tell ya. Overflowing with nightmare material indeed. They made the ponies even creepier by animating them. Then again, I made the mistake of having the Giovanni website loading up in the background, so I had this dark surreal music going on during the Hasbro video clip (more surreal than the original music, anyway.)
