Aniboom bills itself as "the home of animation," a place to discover new up & coming artists online. Towards that end, they've sponsored a $50,000 competition for the best animation across five categories. The field has been narrowed to 25 finalists, and all 25 entries are online for viewing/voting here.

Thanks for that -- just had time for one, but now I have something to look forward to after work.

Only watched a few so far, but I'd love to see Bendito Machine on a larger screen.

I was going to post this myself, but didn't because i have a horse in this race: Dancing Animals in Love was made by a good friend of mine. You can watch the follow-up cartoon here.

Yeah, Bendito Machine is wonderful - the best 5 minutes I've spent online this week. And Glitch was kinda cool, in a gently vague way. And I love that one of the categories is "Crappy." Thanks, jonson, this is great.

Ha. That's a fucking creepy hilarious short your friend did, Bookhouse. The follow-up's a little obvious, but looks great. I like your friend's style.

Good stuff. Bendito was a pleasant surprise. I'm trying to do some Flash animation myself, but damn it's hard to get into it. Great inspiration.

Maybe they should spend that $50k on getting more bandwidth.
