Thanks so much for this delightful post mjjj. The hilariousness of the film is wonderful. It haunted me all day yesterday. It encapsulates the richness of the world in all its vast, juicy complexity à la Joyce, co-existing simultaneously with the elegance of zen minimalism, the world beyond words à la Beckett. And the two are waiting for the mystical, unseen WB Yeats. Deep, lol! "Short film by Bórd Scannán na hEireann" in Gaelic means a short film by the Irish Film Board. A little more information about Pitch 'n' Putt with Joyce 'n' Beckett, directed by Donald Clarke . Interesting that Joyce's daughter Lucia, was in love with Samuel Beckett, who was not interested in her. Where Joyce and Beckett did hang out in Zurich, Cafe Odeon, but it wasn't so fancy at all in 1922. Via the Exploding Aardvark link offered in the original post, I discovered Madamjujujive's astonishing del.icio.us page. wow. Joycean fecundity there.

Presumably, they read the "Bórd Scannán na hEireann" marquee at the end and thought that was the name of the guy who did the movie. Ech, it could just be that the Irish Film Board actually got together and directed the short themselves. I don't know if that's what happened. Internet confusion befuddles me. I'm done for now.
