Strangers with Googly Eyes

The Amy Sedaris Craft Challenge! There's still time to enter! Just post a picture of food made cute with googly eyes to the flickr pool. Amy will pick the winner live on WNYC's Leonard Lopate Show on February 9th. The winner receives a copy of Amy's new book, as well as one of her fake cakes.

There are instructions in the book to make your own fake cake as well as several recipes for real cakes. And many googly eyed crafts.

The book is much more useful than some of the marketing would have you believe. (And completely hilarious too.)

Amy Sedaris rocks. Anyone not familiar with Amy should go read the book or rent Strangers with Candy right now - just the TV series, mind, as the movie didn't really work for some reason.

There's also more amusing tales of Amy in "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris.

That book has fantastic recipes in it. My new favourite is the Brown Sugar Pie, which is just like pecan pie minus the pecans. I think I'll go add some googly eyes to it.
