I was flipping channels at my parent's place and chanced upon this. Seeing this playing on Nickelodeon without context seriously messed with my head. It's one of the few shows I've seen that shift from "ironic" to "unironic" over and over again. posted by jmhodges at 3:02 PM on February 8, 2007
Also, very good. Thanks! posted by jmhodges at 3:02 PM on February 8, 2007
With John Di Maggio doing the voice of the dog, I half expected it to toss back a brew or dry-hump the rainbow horse. posted by datacenter refugee at 3:19 PM on February 8, 2007
That was really neat. Thanks, dobbs! posted by rocketman at 5:08 PM on February 8, 2007
Holy crap, that was indescribably awesome. What a fantastic cartoon. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. This guy kicks ass, Frederator kicks ass (we all knew that), and Nick kicks ass too. Adventure Time: The Animated Series can't come soon enough.
I'm going to go watch that 5 more times now. posted by ulotrichous at 5:31 PM on February 8, 2007
I've really watched this twelve times.
It might sound like I don't have anything better to do, and that's right, but it's because there is nothing better to do. posted by crinklebat at 6:54 PM on February 8, 2007
Mathematical! What time is it? Adventure time! Woo hoo. Loved that. :) posted by nickyskye at 7:23 PM on February 8, 2007

Normally when I see a "check out this great animated short!" post, I don't bother, and when I do, I often don't make it past a minute or so.
This was so good I didn't want it to end. Five stars! No, really. posted by zardoz at 10:42 PM on February 8, 2007
You know, after watching this probably 15 times over the past 12 hours, I've decided that out of all the incredibly wonderful things within it, the very best thing about the entire cartoon is that the Ice King has a drum set in his cave.
Pendelton Ward is a genius. posted by ulotrichous at 7:15 AM on February 9, 2007
Yeah, I was disappointed at first when nobody played the drums (I expected the dog to come in and lay down a hard break), but on reflection, that little detail was so cute. posted by rocketman at 7:24 AM on February 9, 2007
This is the greatest thing I've seen all week. I especially like how Pendleton Ward (in the second link) scolds the internet for thinking drugs were involved.
