A serialized web comic. Got it.

Aw, hellbiscuits. That would be one of my infamous, unintentional "I didn't mean to do that, I swear I'm not that clever" puns. Really, I wasn't even paying attention. If I had been paying attention I would have been stupid about it and wrote "cerealized" instead.

loq, stop making raisins. Your bran's just fine. There's no need to clutter the fiber with noise.

When suggesting that an fpp is not appropriate for metafilter, it might be useful to explain what your criteria for an appropriate post are. Do you have a problem with links to magaizine articles? To youtube videos? To unfolding news events?

I am not sure what my definition of a good post is, but this one has the following:

1. It is unlikely that most people have seen it.
2. It represents the creative work of someone that I can view for free.
3. The subject matter is such that many members here will find it interesting, amusing, or just a walk down memory lane.
4. It is a subject matter that has not been beaten to death on metafilter.

I actually thought that those were the kind of things that were supposed to be posted on here.

Easy there, flarebuse. I think he was just pointing out the pun.

chillout, flarbuse - I'm pretty sure hal9k is making a play on "serialized," that's all. However, if I'm wrong, and hal9k is in fact debating the postworthiness of this, he's mistaken, this is pretty cool.

flarbuse, it's a pun. "Serialized" sounds like "cereal"; get it?

If your screed is tongue-in-cheek, I apologize and will recalibrate my cheek-o-meter, but jeez.

Heh. Triple.

What the hell, flarbuse? Here, have some coffee. He was just being funny. It's ok. Besides, I can defend myself and take my licks - if any. And you should know by now that I'm down with the snark brigade.

Wow. Hi. I really should use preview. Sorry, flarbuse.

I hate you so much right now. I really do.

Damn; I was too slow to post my rejoinder to flarbuse.

It was funny, too. Y'all would've liked it.

Wowsers. Admins, please delete my pointing out the "cereal" pun.

I'll try and be more clear:
Golly, nice post, Mr. loquacious. BTW, there's a secret pun in your FPP!

I knew those f*ing General Mills bastards were bent on world domination. Ever since The Freakies disappeared when I was young, I've been afraid.

Has anyone seen the Cookie Crisp boxes recently? They've entirely dropped the whole cop/robber thing. Stupid political correctness.

Fair enough. I didn't realize that he was referencing the pun. "Got it" is used around these parts to indicate boredom more often than it is to indicate understanding. While my general complaint about people snarking on posts remains, I stand corrected with respect to hal9k above.

Did anyone notice the quality of the drawings?

I suppose this will vanish from the web before we ever see the conclusion.

This is wonderful. I like how Brendan Douglas Jones took a completely demented idea and just ran with it. Fucking ran! This reminds me of the French bandes dessinée tradition.

Fantastic. There is, and always will be, an unlimited demand for visiting graphic violence on childhood icons. Just waiting to see the Barbapoppas get dismembered.

Cranberry - Did anyone notice the quality of the drawings?

Yeah, I quite like the style. The lines and faces reminds me a little bit of HK comicbooks/manga. Can't tell if the 'inking' is from photoshop filters, but there's really quite a bit of detail there.

Well, that's awesome. Of course, now I share the fear that this will get cease and desisted before the conclusion. I'd boycott the cereal makers responsible if that were the case, but I only eat granola.

I'm totally waiting for the sub-plot where Bob and Quello (yeah, I had to look them up too) finally snap and take out Wendell with a rusty spoon for stealing the limelight in all the Cinnamon Toast Crunch advertising.

This reminds me of a song that I wrote for my teenage punkband about the Trix bunny.

Trix Are For Kids

Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!
Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!

Why can't you leave that rabbit alone
can't you see he's starving he's all alone
don't you know trix are for everyone
so give 'em a bowl, let 'em have some fun!

Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!
Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!

why cant you let that bunny be
fruity trix is all he can see
Orangy Orange and Lemony lime
just one bowl would be so fine

Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!
Trix are for kids, Trix are for kids!

Just let the rabbit have some trix
that is how he gets his kicks
not cap'n crunch or cheerios
trix are the best, the rabbit knows!

aaah yes, The Obscene Pineapples. The band that will never be the band that never was.
