Damned smart idea—the tech is there. The random samples of the videos on front page of the site were pretty awful thought—you'd think they'd push some really solid content to sell visitors on it, considering the higher-than-average buy-in required to use it. Golf clap for the first person to register and set one up around goodnewsfortheinsane's old Metafilter Minute bit.

Wait...what makes this any better than just having an mp3? All it does is add size. Watching a cartoon mouth words doesn't add anything to it. Isn't this equivalent to what Ashlee Simpson did back in '04? Would you go to a concert to have somebody lip sync? Then why watch a cartoon do it?

My mom has been sending me these american greetings cards that are awfully similar. Hers are a talking cat. It's cute but creepy.
