And now, here it is: Your moment of pathetic pandering.

"This is like watching Lt. Hauk take over for Adrian Cronauer in 'Good Morning, Vietnam.'" Fox New's answer to The Daily Show is live (well, on YouTube, at least). They stole the concept, stole the set, and even stole the name.

....no need for the guillotine...when you have the needle, let's be a little more civilized!!

Also, the previous poster knew how to correctly make a possesive out of "Fox News."

Lets all agree to stop posting conservative Daily Show clones until they're actually funny.

DevilsAdvocate, you misspelled possessive ;-)

Good god, there's another one of these news-comedy monstrosities out there? Fuck.

Auto-da-fé that sumbitch!

No outrage necessary. This is one point where the system will take care of itself. If it's unfunny, it will fade away and make them look more pathetic. If it's funny, the Daily Show has to work all the harder to stay on top. It's win-win.

Double-posting has a well-known liberal bias.

Remember the half-hour comedy hour? On MTV, maybe? Yeah, it also wasn't funny.

Worst. Laugh. Track. Ever.

Also, if you're going to do a show like this, you shouldn't skimp on the laugh-track budget.

on preview: Yeah, exactly.

The MTV Half-Hour Comedy Hour was just a show with stand-up comedy though, wasn't it?
posted by stifford at 10:24 AM on February 15, 2007

If I recall correctly, it was a clip show with a host. I could definitely be wrong, though. That stand-up comedy boom was, what, twenty years ago?

In the past two days, I have posted two long comments on two threads that have been deleted before I could hit 'Post comment.' (Why do I gravitate towards those?)

I'm making it in under the bar this time, dammit!

I would like to see the animated Santa gif from CAPS LOCKS DAY.

I have posted this in a few threads that were sure to be deleted.

I get some kind of sick thrill out of it.

bicyclefish, I feel your pain -- I was trying to post one about my own MeFi username when the sumbitch went poof on me.

This would be interesting if it wasn't just the same sucky two minute clip we've seen before. I'd actually like to see the Limbaugh/Coulter sketch. (evil as they may be, they at least have some charisma)

It's been linked in the first thread, delmoi. It's really no better.

This has nothing to do with the show per se, but ironically I met the real Adrian Cronauer at an event once and the man is a fire-breathing Paleocon. Dude, was uber-conservative -- far from some free-wheeling would be radical.
