The mess that is Britney Spears. Sure, it's trite. But is she talented, a victim, exploited, lucky, shallow, deserving? And how bad is it to so closely monitor the seeming dissolution of this particular human being and mother of two?

I guess she's trying to make sure the carpet matches the drapes, or lack thereof. so to speak. as it were.
(and this serves the same function as all other celebrity gossip: we can look at this and say 'yeah, I'm fucked up, but I'm not that fucked up.' )

As someone who works in the entertainment industry and sees how the paparazzi and industry noise machine works, this is actually genuinely interesting to me....I'm hoping to query the hive mind as to what they think the deal is here...is this just another flake going to pieces, is she just a product going thru the inevitable motions, or someone who wasn't up to it?

PEOPLE confirms that Brit was at Eric Clapton's Crossroads rehab facility in Antigua.
Crossroads was also the title of Britney's attempt at movie stardom. Coincidence? I think not!
