Sasquatch!

Sasquatch!, the indie music festival, returns to The Gorge with an impressive line-up headlined by Bjork and the Beastie Boys. As usual, KEXP has a veritable cornucopia of live performances from the artists. If you're wondering what might be in store, check out select songs from The Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Citizen Cope, Neko Case, The Thermals, Viva Voce, Interpol, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Spoon, Ozomatli, Bad Brains, The Dandy Warhols, Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter, Common Market, Smoosh, and Minus The Bear. Bring sunscreen and an umbrella on your short drive from Seattle to George, Washington

WMA files?

Dalek, what they hell? I know resistance is futile, but posting a bunch of WMA files isn't smart

I see - ROIR's domain autodirects to an embedded homepage with music in Quicktime audio. Hadn't really noticed that when I posted. Mea culpa on that.

I don't know how you guys feel about it, but I don't think Bjork and the Beastie Boys have been "indie" for a long time now.

Nice lineup ... has anyone been? Is the venue worth the trip?

My friend Greg shoots a lot of photos for KEXP.

Not to be unnecessarily contentious (welcome to MeFi!), but DragonBoy, Daleks never said "Resistance is futile." Their catchphrases were much shorter. And, well, catchier.

Sasquatch's lineup is pretty much gonna kick Coachella and Bonnaroo's asses this time around. And it's pretty hard to beat a venue like the Gorge. The Gorge + Bjork = sensory overload, methinks.

Wasn't M.I.A. kept out of the US because her father belonged to what the government considers a terrorist organization (the Tamil Tigers)? Will she be allowed to enter for this show?

geoff, the venue is spectacular. Very beautiful.

Best large-scale outdoor venue in the counttry. I've been to the Gorge many times, and to Sasquatch twice. It is a well-run festival, and if you've never been to the Gorge it will blow you away.

There's video on YouTube of one of my most favorite bands, The Constantines, playing 2 songs during a hail storm at Sasquatch.
