Sir flapjax at midnite, please, he is now part of the Royal Court of MetaFilter Music. Not only a good interview, but great pictures, man, the one in Benin and the one as a kid with the drums are fantastic. It was a really cool way to get to know a little more about you. (and realizing you think all those people at Music are not your friends. Good to know that, I'll have that in mind next time I post a comment on your songs ; ) Now, seriously, what a cool thing, flapjax, congratulations.

Great article. It's so nice to read a really thoughtful, in-depth interview with a musician. What an interesting background f_a_m has. It's evident just from the MeFi Music posts that he's drawing on an understanding of roots music that's both deep and sophisticated - cool to read about how he thinks about his work.
