I'm not really a hockey fan, but this tiny Wayne Gretzky is pretty compelling. posted by serazin at 4:29 PM on March 14, 2007
I'd seen Malcolm x invterviews from the cbc before but never this appearance on front page challenge. That was such a good show, it was smart and funny and still a gameshow in its way and somehow they managed to bring in heavy hitters like this one with Malcolm X, Pearson after he won his nobel peace prize and even on with lyshenko, the man who helped start the cold war. posted by thecjm at 4:57 PM on March 14, 2007
Thanks, serazin. I have very fond memories of watching Take 30 after school in the basement in Halifax while my mom ironed. Paul Soles and Adrienne Clarkson hosted.
I was living in Brockville Ontario at the time and noticed my mother one day wearing a groovy medallion on a chain. I remember thinking "why does she have a picture of a bald guy around her neck?". That was really the start of the 'sixties' for me--the first glimpse of hippie culture. posted by Turtles all the way down at 5:23 AM on March 15, 2007
There is a send-up of Front Page Challenge on SCTV's brilliant Canada episode that never fails to make me laugh. posted by hell toupee at 7:24 AM on March 15, 2007
