By the way, it was an average of 2 per night over six years.

"He didn't steal any other kinds of clothing. But as long as it was underwear, apparently anything would do,"

It's kind of cool and kind of scary that the world is populated by cats like this.

He was arrested in February after he stole underwear from two houses, and police later raided his home.

Man, it writes itself.

I'd love to see photos the police took at his home! Were they in one enormous wardrobe? In a garden shed? Hanging like beautiful mobiles throughout his home? Did he have a whole room dedicated to stolen underwear?

Haha, I misread it as _party_ ninja and was like, "Hmm, surreptitious partying, interesting". The picture impressed me further. Disappointed by the article though.

Metafilter: It writes itself or it gets the hose again.

Is this something I'd have to have my panties in a knot to care about?

Did they ask him what step two was?

...
2. Profit!

What impresses me is how neatly the police laid out the various pairs of panties and such so that they could photograph them.

Its amazing how far American panty thieves lag behind their Japanese counterparts.

Man. I wish I was that dedicated. Even if it was for stealing panties.

what i find even more disturbing is the way the underwear has been laid out for the media. whomever folded and arranged, and hopefully washed, all of that is just as nuts as the panty ninja.

Lock him up. The general pubic must be protected.

We have a panty gap!

Dedicated professionals are working to close that gap, citizen.
Sunny's underwear can bring in a lot of cash.

"They'll pay $50 to $100 for panties," her mother said.

Maybe he stole all the underwear to go with his natty Japanese construction worker outfits.

A panty thief was in and out of the courts in Portland, along with his distressed parents. His mother said that he needs help, not punishment.
