"I love tiny things - how cool!" Me, too! I get all strangely excited thinking about extremely miniaturized everyday objects, especially if there were a whole bunch of them in a pile. Like hundreds. I'm totally serious. It doesn't excite me in a sexual way, but in a delighted way with that slight chest constriction thing going on. I vaguely feel like it's some weird brain disorder. I once had these tiny little rectangular photo stickers, about a quarter inch long, and I scanned both sides of a credit card, printed the scans onto the tiny stickers, and stuck them back-to-back. It was a super tiny credit card! It was so cool! I need to make a tiny book that way. Just the idea makes me want to squee like a little girl. What? Why are you looking at me funny? Good post.

EB, I'm going to go out on a limb and make a guess that you also like mechanical clocks, and without digging into your history to see which side of the firearms argument you fall on, you may like guns as well. Not for any of the obvious reasons, mind you. But because you have love of craft. The kind of mind that likes miniaturization tend to be that way because of a love of the device. The mechanics of the thing. It's not about what it does. It's more about how it does it. And that is the coolness. Apologies if I am completely wrong, but based on your comment, I'm willing to guess that you are a kindred spirit when it comes to precision mechanics.

You're pretty close there, quin. Yeah, I think that's part of it. But the other part, I think, is just some manifestation of a mild OCD. I almost immediately went and put in my Amazon basket four of those teeny-tiny USB sticks Rhomboid linked to.
