Okay how come it's in german but the 'power words' they kept throwing up on the screen were all in english? And the one phrase the chick said in english that I gleaned reminded me of Cyndi Lauper. posted by ZachsMind at 3:53 PM on March 24, 2007
Wow. I remember seeing this a while back from some random blog and I just assumed there'd be no way this hadn't been FPPed yet. These are awesome. posted by XQUZYPHYR at 4:05 PM on March 24, 2007

Well proper nouns are just said because there's no English translation, but I think for other normal words it's just an effect thing. Asian countries frequently do that too. I think it's like how in America people thing Kanji is cool on a poster or tattoo; in other countries, English is probably the same way. posted by XQUZYPHYR at 4:07 PM on March 24, 2007

I wonder if these guys are in any way related to the group *Der Plan*, who had some pretty batshitinsane videos back some time around the late 80s...? posted by UbuRoivas at 4:18 PM on March 24, 2007

In an alternate universe, where the Third Reich didn't fall, this video was never made. The me in that universe isn't going to possibly have nightmares involving being chased by levitating eggs. I'm a tiny bit jealous of that universe. posted by CKmtl at 5:55 PM on March 24, 2007

Apparently, Fattaru are Swedish, not Norwegian. I'll forgive them for it this time, but they better not let it happen again... posted by stenseng at 6:08 PM on March 24, 2007
What I don't get is she was strung out on crack, and losing her balance in a subway somewhere... Why the hell is an exercise instruction video stuck in her brain? I could see if she got just a song stuck in her head, but an entire video? Am I the only one this doesn't happen to? I still just get songs stuck in my head. Like the Flinstones theme. posted by ZachsMind at 6:14 PM on March 24, 2007

Since aldurtregi and einarorn are letting the side down, I suppose it falls to me to post some Icelandic hip hop videos. First of all, here's XXX Rottweiler [NOT BESTIALITY] with their songs Sönn íslensk sakamál [True Icelandic Crime] and Havana Club. Oh, both vids are NSFW. Bent & 7berg's Hér kemur flugvélin [Here Comes the Airplane]. Two clips from Forgotten Lores, Sprettur [A Sprint] and Þegar ég sé mic [When I See a Mic ... oh, and it's a live clip with grainy, poor quality]. And finally, here's a video made from scenes from samurai movies to a song called Getto Fab by Bæjarins Bestu, a hip hop crew featuring the grandson of novelist Halldór Laxness, a Nobel Laureate. The rapper grandson goes by the moniker Dóri DNA.
Unfortunately, my two favorite crews, Afkvæmi guðanna and Fræ, don't have videos online, but I guess you can't have everything. Well, that's not quite true, there are a couple of cell phone videos of Fræ in action up on YouTube, but they're of extremely low quality and very short. posted by Kattullus at 10:06 PM on March 24, 2007
Now somebody post some good german video links because I really doubt this is the best the country has to offer... posted by mmoncur at 10:22 PM on March 24, 2007

Not so crazy but very very fine German rap by Kinderzimmer Productions - Irgendwo Dazwischen (Somewhere in between).
Bonus: They have a flash-based game on their web page, where you can construct your own German rap with samples from the Texta himself
(click "Weiter" on the start page, then on Flashgame. Wait till it's done loading and click "weiter" in the red message box, now you can drag words and letter onto the ticker tape at the bottom and let it be spoken to a beat by pressing play on the tape recorder thing. You can send that mix to someone by pressing the record button and entering an email address). posted by Glow Bucket at 7:20 AM on March 26, 2007
