Nearby residents didn't seem too upset. No one claimed it was the work of aliens or a secret cult. 250 animal carcases dumped. Included coyotes, dogs, cats cows, the usual stuff. "I'm a little concerned about it,""Stuff like that happens," she shrugged. But the folks in the forums think otherwise and have opinions as to what should happen to the deed doers and the cause of their actions.

What can you really expect when you live on Spooky Hollow Road? If I lived there I'd be upset at not finding hundreds of mutilated animal carcasses.

As a matter of fact, I'd be upset anyway. No burning pentagram? No cow heads on spikes? Animal parts hanging from the trees? C'mon now, put a little flair into your carcass dumping.

Today, the local beef farm just incinerated one thousand severed cow heads.

Tonight, someone is eating a cheeseburger while their son is at T-Ball practice.

Satan has been at work. Someone's appetite is diminished. Bobby was called a dipshit by his teammates.

Mysteriously, despite all this, the Earth continues to spin one thousand miles an hour.

Thank God For Animal Mutilation
posted by saraswati at 4:44 PM on March 27, 2007

It was a dark night, just like tonight. Ten years ago. I saw the worst cattle mutilation I ever seen. When they pulled the twisted holstein from the mouldering pile of carcasses. . . IT LOOKED LIKE THIS!

(I was so tempted to turn that into a screamer.)

"We just assumed it was the coyotes and any other fur/trophy animals, but if it also included cats and dogs, then the locals SHOULD be concerned."

The website article illustrates one of my pet peeves of many media websites -- if not for the subheading of the website logo, readers would have no idea where Jay County is.

What? No links to YouTube showing us dead mutilated animals laying near creekbeds? We're laying down on the job here, Big Blue. I thought nowadays every OP had to have a YouTube link. I think these two did it!

Wow, the first comment on that site is awesome, it manages to imply that this is all because of the abortionists and the sodomites.

I'm awfully glad I live off of Adorable Hollow Road. The animal dumps in my neighborhood always look like this.

I completely share that gripe, zek. I can't count how many times I've clicked on a link to "The Tri-County's Best News Station" and searched in vain for a simple statement of what fucking city and state you're actually referring to.

I had to have a vet put a cat down once. It belonged to my girlfriend at the time (now my wife). Remy was a good cat, but was old and sick. It was her time. I was doing the responsible thing.

- So, what happens to the body, I asked.
- We have a service that picks them up, the vet said.
- And what exactly does the service do with them, I asked.
- They cremate the animals. You don't have to worry about it, he said, unless you want to pay a little extra, and they'll provide you with the ashes in a nice box. It's good.

I didn't like the sound of "the service picks them up." I wanted Remy to have a measure of dignity (or rather, I wanted to feel like dignity was at least involved somehow), so I paid the little extra and scattered the ashes myself in a nice creek near my office.

But still ... how was I to know if the ashes were really Remy's? What really happens when "the service" picks them up?

It's stories like this when we learn what can happen, sometimes. We put a lot of faith into "the service" without a lot of follow-through.

If you remember this from a few years ago, frogan, it's not just animals we should be worried about.

Is there any reason why reading the comments in online newspaper "forums" is the mental equivalent of sniffing paint thinner or catching a nasty case of jock itch? Animal carcasses I can live with, but emoticons and fractured grammar always make me feel so...dirty.

Yeah, newspaper forums are amazing! I find them better than the articles for fright factors.

David4801 has this to say:

I'm as outraged and incensed by this senseless killing and mutilation as everybody else. And yes, something needs to be done. And the folks responsible for this should be held accountable.

Hummm...... lets see, maybe we should start with this crowd that says that the killing of unborn babies in this country is just a choice that every woman has the right to make. This mentality sorta devalues life in general. After all, what's the life of a few hundred little cats and dogs compared to the four thousand little babies that are killed each and every day across this land of ours.

Then lets move to the crowd that says the Bible has no place in schools. How dare we tell our children and teach them that the Creator of this universe said very plainly and bluntly, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL". How dare young folks hear that the Creator of this universe said "A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast". It seems that Satan was all too happy to fill the void with his devices when the Bible and prayer were kicked out of the schools. Satanic groups sprung up and left and right and young folks are now learning all about satanic rituals where animals are killed, mutilated, skinned and beheaded.

Then lets think about this crowd today that is trying to convince everyone that their abnormal behavior which the Creator of this universe calls an abomination is just a alternate life style which we all should accept and not say anything against. And the sodomites have just about won this battle of acceptance. They have just about convinced the masses that we should just look the other way at their abnormal behavior....... and accept it........ and that's probably what these people killing these poor dogs and cats are thinking too......... we all should just look the other way at their abnormal behavior.......... and accept it.

Yes, the folks responsible for this should be held accountable...... but they probably won't be, at lease not in this life. But...... the day of judgment is coming....... and a Just and Righteous Judge will be on the throne.

Very nice and on topic!

Rhomboid : and searched in vain for a simple statement of what fucking city and state you're actually referring to.

Amen to that brother. Can I also point out the unending aggravation that is sites that don't bother to date their articles? Yeah, that's a quick way piss me off. Give me a link to a news story that gives me no indication of where it is or when it happened.

Who, what, when, where and how? I guess they figure three out of five ain't bad.

*Scene at the Great Satanic Cult Fest*

Bill: “Hey Dave! Great, right on time” *eyes truck* “Where are all the animal carcasses?”
Dave: “Huh? They’re right he...” *notices broken latch* “Aww, Fuck!”
Bill: “You idiot!”
Dave: “Hey, it wasn’t my fault...uh, I hit a bump and uh...”
Jane: “What are we supposed to do now? That’s it Dave - no sexual rites for you this festival.”
Dave: “What, but...”
Mavis: “Are you at all serious about Satan, man?”

*weeks later*

“I'm as outraged and incensed by this senseless killing and mutilation as everybody else. And yes, something needs to be done. And the folks responsible for this should be held accountable.
Hummm...... lets see, maybe we should start with this crowd that says that the killing of unborn babies in this country is just a choice....”
