At what point does the Rude Awakening video transform into something funny? posted by zippy at 3:18 PM on March 30, 2007 [2 favorites has favorites]
Seen it, but I laugh every time.

Rather than talk about how mediocre I found the Transformers thing, allow me to say that the G.I.Joe "promos" still kill me. posted by davejay at 3:37 PM on March 30, 2007
Its alright. The GI Joe ones were at least abstract when they werent funny. This one relies too much on the "Cartoons swearing LOL" schtick that weve seen like 8 million times now.
But then, I still get a kick out of the ebonics Charlie Brown ones, so what the fuck do I know? posted by Senor Cardgage at 3:40 PM on March 30, 2007
The best part was that awful background music. It's like porno music for cartoons. posted by redteam at 4:03 PM on March 30, 2007
"He's way stronger, and totally insane"
"Fuck."
That made me laugh. But it went down-hill from there. Whereas the GI Joe stuff is funny for days.
"Nice catch blanco niƱo, but too bad your ass got saaaaaaaaacked."
Cracks me up every time. posted by quin at 4:25 PM on March 30, 2007
The best parody, of course, is CheatCommandos. Ironic dubbing doesn't cut it for me (though the surreal dubbing of fensler's GI Joe is pretty good). posted by cotterpin at 4:36 PM on March 30, 2007
Doesn't come close to the gay Marine at the skate park. posted by Burhanistan at 4:46 PM on March 30, 2007
My favorite part was none of it.
For friday youtube noncartoon fun, try balls of steel for a few minutes. posted by isopraxis at 4:57 PM on March 30, 2007
That Transformers thing had its moments, but this was really all about linking the GI Joe videos again wasn't it? posted by fidgets at 5:03 PM on March 30, 2007
What fidgets said. "Shitpiece" really made me smile, but mostly it felt like they got stuck in the making-childhood-icons-cuss-is-lol stage of the creative process and never got out. posted by cortex at 5:24 PM on March 30, 2007

yeah, now that i think about it, those GI Joe PSAs would have been soo much funnier had they been: a) dependent on a 40-year-old-virgin level of pre-requisite knowledge, b) nearly ten minutes long. posted by tremspeed at 7:18 PM on March 30, 2007
Although I do like the idea of a bad Optimus Prime - one of the last shots in that clip, shaking hands with Galvatron... reminds me of something but I just can't put my finger on it... posted by porpoise at 9:36 PM on March 30, 2007 [1 favorite has favorites]
