Aw yeah! I was just looking around on YouTube for some frisbee trick ideas for my insane border collie and found this guy.

And I'll add this one to the dog dancing list.

Also, previously. Canine freestyle is neat. Check out this dorky/likeable Charlie Chaplin and dog dance.

Sorry, nickyskye - I entirely missed those when I checked the links...this is my night to sit and cuss at myself, isn't it?

There was a King of the Hill about this, Hank danced with Ladybird.

I love that King of the Hill episode with Bobby shaking things up with Connie's dog.

That is one incandescently dorky sport.

I love it.

What a coincidence. I kid you not, I just got home from taking my dog to a beginning agility class! I figured what the Hell, I wanted to see if she'd actually do it. At first the tunnel freaked her out a little, but she got used to it & then she was clearly having the time of her life. And y'know what? She DIGS those weaving pole things! I was in shock. She got really into it!

awwww ... these were fun, thanks dilettante. Dogs are so cool. No matter what whack things we humans think up to make them do, they do it devotedly and with great good cheer.

incandescently dorky

Cool.

dog food sugar, that was one incredible freestyle dance, dog vanquishes demon, wow.

dilettante, delighted you made this post. :) I like the same things you do. Sorry I didn't include the link in my comment above (it seems I've been typing challenged lately or just plain dumber than usual). So Charlie Chaplin and dog, dorky dancing.

Ferret freestyle.

Oh, are we showing off photos of our puppies? No? Oh, ok. Nevermind. Just asking.
posted by miss lynnster at 8:35 PM on April 6, 2007

Yeah, I suppose photos of our two adorable border collies would be right out?

(Glad to see I'm not the only designer with a toll-free telephone number that spells my [real, in my case] name.)

Oh yes we are miss lynnster. Yes we are. I'm sure maxwelton also knows that it's just a matter of time before border collies take over. Viva la revolution. First they dominate dog dancing... Alright. It's official. Time for me to get some sleep.

I do love to think of people that participate in Dog Dancing shows using public transit or walking to the events in their outfits.

miss lynnster your pup is very cute!
posted by dog food sugar at 10:08 PM on April 6, 2007

Your collie's cute too. :) Zoe's a pound puppy mutt... a long-legged red dachshund on steroids. I dig her. For my money, she's the best. puppy. evar. I can't wait 'til I have our dance routine finished!

Well, lynnster is kinda my real name, max. I've had the nickname since like 1989 or something, back when that SNL makin' copies skit inspired everyone to call people stupid nicknames. It stuck, and it ended up being a surprisingly great way to brand my business to immediately show I'm someone with a sense of humor.

Border collie schmorder schmollie. Vallhunds is where it's at.

Gotta represent for the shorter herding breeds.

(She can't compete with the border collies' dance moves, but she knows every synonym for "dinner" in Roget's Thesaurus.)

I wasn't poking fun, Ms. Lynnster. I was hoping to prevent calls 800-maxwelton--as "maxwelton" is a nom de filter. I can just see the perplexed expression of the innocent on the other end of the blower as someone lashes into them regarding some failed joke of mine...

I'm definitely not posting a picture of my pups.

Adorable puppies everywhere!

Oh, I wasn't lashing out or thinking you were making fun, max. I was just having a conversation with you.

Oh, wow, thanks for the ferret link! Mine do that weaving around the feet spontaneously sometimes when they're trying to kill me - that kid must have an amazing amount of patience and insight to train hers to do it on cue. (Insight - human voices aren't within a good range for ferrets to distinguish separate sounds in human language, I think, although few general ferret resources mention this - but her ferrets get lots of visual cues).

I hope one day to succeed in training mine not to bite the dog.

Damn, that one with "You're the One That I Want" just made me cry. I'm glad someone linked the appropriate AskMe, I missed that one.
