Awesome. The terrible voice acting by the wing commander almost pulled me out of it, but then GI Mecha showed up and everything was cool. Someone needs to get started on the video game. I'd probably buy an XBox 360 to play it.

Yeah, aside from the horrible voice acting, this was pretty nifty. I was a bit thrown by the nazi robot coming ashore on some pacific island, though. (And, judging from his prancy walk, I think the nazi robot might be a bit light in his armored combat boots.)

Awesome. I can't help but imagine the British Mecha, a big portly thing with, I dunno, machineguns for a handlebar mustache. It stands on the cliffs of Dover, pounding away at swarming aircraft during the Battle of Britain, pausing only to drink oil from a giant tin teacup. After the war, it will retire from the service and be elected to Parliament.

Robocop's got it all wrong-- the British war effort would never include a giant robot. The Nazis would send a giant robot across the channel, and the Brits would defeat it using a combination of disinformation, pluck, and resourcefulness. Trebuchets! British kids and invalids destroying the nazi robot on salisbury plain with jerry-rigged trebuchets and crop planes would be a great movie.

Giant Nazi robots? Do I smell a spoiler from the next Indiana Jones movie? Because I've heard that Harrison Ford was too old to do the action the way they wanted it done, so now they are planning on using a 15 story tall IndyBot. It will engage in hand to hand with the NaziBot it what can only be described as the biggest version of Rock'em Sock'em Robots the world has ever seen. It's going to rule.

Historical pedantry: the swastika, like an American flag on the right tail of a commercial airliner, isn't backwards. Also, I don't think it's supposed to be a Pacific island - more like Anzio. Somewhere Mediterranean, anyway. Which still doesn't explain the Dai-Nipponulator.

I liked it, and its nifty to see how much CG can be done with a relatively small team. The airplanes flying through various improbable locations was definately cool. Cooler than the robots, really. Of course I've never been a giant robot fan, powered armor would totally kick the ass of any giant robot in existence. A 50 foot robot is technically called a "target", while guys in powered armor are hard to find and hit. But. The voice acting, and script kinda sucked. I thought the boss pilot sounded *way* too much like one of the Cheat Commandos, I kept expecting to hear "buy all our playsets and toys". Being a history geek, I was also thrown by the "take it by surprise, its a machine" (or however it went) line from one of the pilots. People didn't think like that back in the 1940's. Automation simply didn't exist, the word "computer" meant "a human who does computations", etc. As a total history geek, with a bent towards tech, it bugged me. Totally silly that I'd be bugged by that when I'm watching a video of giant robots slugging it out during WWII, but that's just the way my mind works, or fails to work I suppose. Still, the Dai-Nippon-O-Matic was fantastic, with its giant sword and its vaguely samurai type armor. Wish we'd seen more of it.

Against a hard target? Why? And why did they scramble with fuel tanks? And what was the matter with the battleship's MASSIVE naval guns?" Needless to say, I am a dork.

And people say that history is boring. If more of this kind of history was taught in the schools, certainly the kids would pay attention. Anyway, those WWII mechs really were a lot more advanced than WWI's Boilerplate. p.s. I'll watch anything with the title "Nazi Robot Attack." Agreed. Impossible to pass up a title like that.
