Take Away Shows! Is Parisian site Blogotheque's collection of acoustic performances from acts such as the Shins, Okkervil River, Tapes 'n Tapes, the National and Xiu Xiu among others. Just one camera and a mic to pick up the music, kinda like standing next to them on the street corner. Via.

I don't remember having cried since 9-11, but watching Arcade Fire play Wake Up amidst all those people did something to me. The line "I think we'll just have to adjust" is the most powerful part of the song for me, and I think when I heard it this time I think I just let everything I've been carrying around since I heard VT wash out of me.

I apologize if this is a double, (I looked!) but I had to share this with my fellow MeFites because of the tears. The way the video is filmed I felt like I was right there with all those people and I've never had anything do that to me before.

That and the other videos are cool as well. As a musician it's always cool to hear a group just getting down in the middle of the market square with just their guitars. That's RAW, man.

Eh drats. Metafilter's post checking system didn't turn up the link to the AF video or the Take Away Shows' main page. I should have known that it would have been posted here considering how many people read Kottke.
