oh dear, that was too lovely. Orpheus is probably the only Greek myth that I really really liked.

Totally loved the Orpheus and Eurydice animation. That Winged Sandals site has delightful visuals and info. Other animations there about Greek mythology. Just learned the connection between the word dolphin and the Oracle at Delphi. cool. Beautiful and informative illustration of an amphitheater. Always wanted a pair of winged shoes but the next best thing are Melissino's hand crafted and affordable Greek sandals. Charming sentence, birds sing with their fingers. My own version, written as a 15 year old, was "...feathers grow on fingers of writers whose thoughts fly." I wonder on what quote from Apollinaire Jean Cocteau based his line?

"L'oiseau chante avec ses doigts" is, in fact, a direct quote of Apollinaire. According to Cocteau, anyway, who is generally reliable but sometimes embroiders a little. Here's another view of the same subject from Maurice Mourier; «Faire de l'image, dompter la machine à bâtir du film, fabriquer de ses mains des objets peu courants [...] autrement dit créer de la poésie purement cimématographique, c'est, par analogie exacte, chanter avec ses doigts».
