fbeach - I don't get it. How is it an insult to Canada? It's hilariously funny, and manages to get a few valid points about America's culture across, which, after all, it is trying to ape.

I saw Canadian Bacon, too. Big deal. Canada is a good neighbor. Their cities are clean, their medicines are cheaper and some of their chicks are hot. All their hockey teams are moving to the States where we mop the floor with Canucks. It's all good. 'Nuff said.

Insult? bahah. That site has always been a laugh. And it's so canadian in that oh-so-canadian kind of way. Canadians seem to laugh at their own stereotypes a lot - Canadian Bacon and South Park the movie were probably laughed at more here than in the states. Chilly Beach is hilarious too. ...though I find this post rather redundant, as I could have sworn I have seen this site here at least once or twice before (or maybe that was in its previous pre domain incarnation?). and that beaver kicks ass.

If this is the same CWD site I saw several years back, I've actually met the mastermind behind the site. The girl who runs it is incredibly intelligent, and was a student at the University of Waterloo. I had the opportunity to meet her during a job interview and she just totally blew me away with her energy and expertise.

Ooh, I have a canadian story. A girl in my class last semester was from canada, and she was grousing about our non-metric measurements, and she sez "What does 'pt' stand for?" and I sez "It stands for 'pteradon.' There's twelve pteradons in a gallon, and that's the measurement people at gas stations prefer you to order by. Just ask for 100 pteradons and" <edited for brevity and because it wasn't actually all that funny> -- and she bought it!!! Hahahahahhaha!

Anyone in the US seen "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"? It's a satirical look at current events. One of my favourite segments is "Talking to Americans." In one of these, they told students at Harvard that in Canada, we put old people on ice floes and send them off to die. They were circulating a petition to stop this, and lots and lots of America's brightest (or richest) were signing. You see, we think we're smarter than you, and a lot of the time, we're right... ;)

sonofsamiam: Be careful. Every Canadian has at least 5 or 6 anecdotes that begin with "I was in the states one time..." and end with "... <sigh> Americans are so stupid." Sure, they aren't all true, but not all Americans are stupid, so it balances out. <shifty look>

Canadian satirical comedy is great (esp. 22 minutes). I think Canadian humour has a nice mix of British wit and satire, and American potty humour, or something. We're nicely in the middle.
