What do you think of that, Charles?

Here's a little DogFilter for you, courtesy of Drew of Toothpaste For Dinner fame. Not only does Charles get a finger up his ass, but he also has a licking problem.

I want to mention for those of you who may have missed this Awesome Internet Connection: Drew from toothpastefordinner is the guy who first gave the internet lego porn.

I'm guessing I shouldn't click on the last two links at a client's office... yes?

Ha! My buddies circulated the licking problem around a couple months ago, and I was just singing (an altered version of it) to my cat as I opened MeFi.

Nice post.

He really does have a licking problem.

Love these guys. Thanks for the update on what they're doing these days!

I can accomplish the same behavior exhibited in the licking problem link, with my dog and peanut butter.

Whenever I do this, I feel sort of evil though. I'm not sure why; the dog is obviously thrilled and not being harmed in any way, but there is something that always seemed mean spirited about it.

Of course, that doesn't prevent me from doing it whenever the idea crosses my mind, or when I need the pooch to leave me alone for a bit.

Man, it'd take a whole flowchart to describe how Drew invented or contributed to all of these just-under-the-radar internet phenomena.

Ah screw it, I'm on my lunch.

Update: I probably missed some stuff but here you go.

Poor Charles. He's got too much going on at both ends.

churl: Could you clarify? How did drew affect the Domo-Kun meme, and what does his ex-shitty-techno-band have to do with songfight?

I, for one, love my Pan Flute Flowchart T-shirt.

Kompressor is awesome.

Also, his Livejournal recent picture generator is always on my home page tabs.

I loves me some Toothpaste for dinner, but Drew is weirdly, rabidly anti-RSS (exhibit A), so I often forget to check out what he's up to. Thanks for the post.

Happily! I'm no drew-historian but I was a pretty big fan in the drew.corrupt.net days. (briefly co-moderated his forum, etc)

I believe (I may be wrong on this!) Drew put up the very first English-language Domo-Kun page, on his drew.corrupt.net site. His short-lived messageboard was a hub of Domo-Kun fandom for a bit, especially when his page was the only place to download the actual Domo-Kun shorts.

Songfight started under the dumbrella banner alongside drew.corrupt.net, and Drew was in the first fight. He entered seven times (and won 3) as the tongue-in-cheek Kompressor. All of these songs later appeared on Kompressor cds. He also entered many times under various other pseudonyms. To speculate wildly: Kompressor probably drove more people to songfight than vice-versa; I recall Kompressor being the most-downloaded artist on mp3.com for a couple weeks (most likely after sambrown linked "Kompressor Does Not Dance" from explodingdog.com, and then Kompressor reciprocated with "Red Robot Theme Song").

(Did you know that one of the earliest songfights was secretly comprised entirely of Drew pseudonyms? I think it was this one.)

I just realized I wasted my entire teenage life on the fucking internet.

Haha, okay, I thought Kompressor was just a guy he knew. What a nut, he had me fooled for ages.

I am the hugest Natalie Dee fan alive.

Proof?

If boyfriend can hear me laughing hysterically from upstairs, he knows I'm reading either Natalie Dee or Married to the Sea (their joint comic).

[If boyfriend hears me yelling at the TV, I'm watching hockey.]

If boyfriend hears me gasping for air? Again, Natalie Dee. The recent "shitty zoo" series had both of us in tears we were laughing so hard.
