My children aren't old enough to have more than a few words at this point, so I can't slot them neatly into these boxes yet. However, there are quite a few adults I know that fit into these slots quite nicely.

I confess that I was disappointed to realize this was talking about children. I was hoping it was advice on how to handle these kind of folks in HR situations. :( Of course, it just drives home the point that there isn't a magical age at which people suddenly become mental "grown-ups" and set aside "childish" behaviors.

Study this child carefully before selecting a technique to change the behavior. From an examination of the primary and secondary needs, it can be noted that the know-it-all is many different persons. I think this is an admission of the uselessness of the techniques on the linked pages.

I think somebody should set up an information site to teach kids how to handle shitty parents. Some useful starting categories: The Whiner. Mrs. My kids will achieve the things that I never did. Mr. Mmmmm. You're growing up to be a big bonny girl. The Out and out bastard. Grandma Guilt-trip etc.

The Commander Guy! These descriptions are very good for adults as well as children. I don't see any reason to restrict them to children only. After all, maturity isn't about chronology. It would be fun to use these and analyze more public figures than just The Decider.
