Like Progress Quest but looking for something you can get a little more involved with? Hours of semi-interactive entertainment are now available! Save, load, and undo with the roguelike game Save Scummer. Level up with Statbuilder, where you must click to win.
And try my personal favorite, NPC Quest, which gives you all the excitement of RPG inventory management while automating the boring battles and exploration. (NPC Quest is near the bottom; scroll down.)

NPC Quest has this nasty habit of randomly generating one small room with all the monsters in it. The hero seems pathologically incapable of making for the exit when there's a monster near, so if you're not quite overpowered for that level, kiss the game goodbye...

Otherwise a lot more entertaining than you'd expect! Goes to show that there's not that much entertainment value in hacking and slashing these days, I submit.

savescummer is less fun.

It lacks the depth that NPC Quest has, because it doesn't appear that I can do very much. Except alter time/rolls, but, that takes too much work... Even hitting left and right to have the game generate new floors to try to prevent a death is tedious. Definitely feels like I have less control over the game,...

But, at least I can let savescummer play by itself in the background.

NPC Quest is strangely compelling. It's no nethack of course but it's good for a change of pace.
