Very few people managed to keep their eyes open for the *pop*. I'm chicken like that too.

I know! After looking at 50 people cringing, stumbling on her stoic gaze was really unsettling, somehow.

I cannot grasp that child's expression.

Not one muscle of her face is tensed and her eyes are focussed on infinity.

The only occasion I can think of where I have seen similar faces is with people standing around staring hypnotized into a bonfire.

Actually, I think those photos are from the 2006 maker faire, if the dates are to be trusted.
