Maple bacon ice cream here. Also, I'm lobbying my boyfriend re: getting married at Voodoo Doughnut pretty much entirely on the basis of 3 things: the bacon doughnut, the cruller chandelier and the black velvet painting of Isaac Hayes. You can get a 2-pound bag of real bacon crumbles at Costco/etc. Put 'em on *good* vanilla ice cream and Oh. My. God. Where's kittens for breakfast? This is TOTALLY his kinda post.

Oh my... I love bacon; I know that certain cow strains have similar striated fatty deposits in the belly area similar to pigs. Is there a reliable way of obtaining smoked cow-bacon? I've always wanted to try bacon dipped in molten chocolate but the best I've gotten my lazy-ass to do is dip them in maple syrup. Hmm, I'm going to have to try (very) thick-sliced bacon, crispy, in melted aged cheese (ancient chedder?). Cheese melted with dark beer (Newcastle? Kilkenny?. And a few slices of jalapeno. And a handful of chopped garlic. With cilantro. Maybe a small pinch of cumin. Everyone knows to cut notches in the fatty side every 1 or 2 cm apart and 1 or 1.5 cm in so bacon will fry flat and straight, and evenly, right, so it's evenly - all over - just-crunchy and not-even-a-little-bit-burnt where there's still some fat on the white parts and it just melts in your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue and then there's the meat that disolves as you put your molars on them into sweat mouth-filling shreds? Right?

Languagehat - try hashbrowns (slice a potato into 3/4cm slices and go to town with a potato peeler on the slices long-ways. Jumble together and fry the patty in bacon grease. MmmmMMmm good. Today I had french toast fried in bacon grease.
