His dance style is the robot variation of popping. He appeared [YT] on the Atlanta auditions of So You Think You Can Dance. He's got scoliosis, and can't lift his arms above his head. But he shows no fear, and now he's got people talking.

I do not like "So you think you can dance" and I do not know enough about dancing of any kind to comment with any sort of authority, but that clip of his audition was awesome.

This guy is amazing too.

The auditions are where the poppers shine, because they usually aren't very good at the other styles (or choreography in general) and get cut right away.

This really reminds me of a BBC doc from (I think...) 2005 where they met with disabled dancers from around the UK. One of the most spectacular was a man who no legs who did sweeping ballet movements with his arms and torso on a layer of gravel. I wish I could recall what it was titled, as I think the Blue would really enjoy it.

He makes dancing look like a magic trick. Amazing.

Interesting the way that the locking and sudden restarts screw with the video compression on the youtube playback.

Watching his performance on TV was awesome. Like in the true meaning of it, not in the '80s usage.

We were stunned by the smoothness and balance he executed his moves with. The playfulness, the confidence, the sheer control - I knew he wouldn't make it through choreography, but I was so glad they gave him the chance up there.

Shane Sparks promised he'd be cast in an upcoming dance film he's about to start working on. If he keeps that promise, I'll do my best to be in the cinema to see him do his thing on the big screen.

The sickening cackle of the dumb cow judging this contest aside, I thought this stuff was great.

A few of them kinda reminded me of this video. Despite having scoliosis, Brian Gaynor has a huge amount of control going for him...neat stuff!

That laughing really put me off. Maybe it was more comical in person, but I just found it impressive.

Oh. They laughed at the pacman guy too. Okay, I guess they just need to make sure they're "on air" throughout the program or something even when not on camera?

She always laughs when she likes something, not necessarily because it's funny.

Which is weird, because she's got this very distinctive laugh that should probably be reserved for less confusing uses.

Wow, desjardins, I am late to this post but I am glad I didn't miss it. That kid has a lot of heart - great stuff. Thanks for the post.
