Tie a string to your finger so you don't forget that today is National Yo-Yo day!
For a toy that has been around for the past 2,500 years the yo-yo sure hasn't slowed down. New styles of play are becoming more popular and recently new additions to yo-yos have lead to entirely new tricks. If you are lucky you can even catch National Yo-Yo Master Steve Brown performing one of his artistic yo-yo demonstrations.

I've got this one in my desk drawer right now. I never mastered any real tricks, but have always found yo-yo-ing relaxing, almost meditative. I used to yo-yo before tests in college.

Amazing stuff, especially the kid in the "new additions to yo-yos " link. (Not sure if comparing the birth of a skilled yo-yoist the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe is in the best possible taste, mind you!)

I just got a yo-yo from google. Now I have a reason to play with it. Hooray. Did that 888 video really associate a yo-yo with democratic revolution in the Balkans?
