Steam Trek: The Moving Picture - Absolutely charming Star Trek parody done in the silent movie style (YouTube). Previous Steam Trek goodness.

The piano noodling got to me at times, but I still loved it.

I saw this on Brass Goggles earlier this week (fantastic Steampunk blog for those of you, like me, haven't gotten sick of it yet). I *heart* the paper ship and Sooty. Hee!

Funny that it's being posted *everywhere* lately, considering it's been around as long as it has.

I, my-self, have attended a convocation of Steam Trek aficionados, held at a local boarding house over May Day week-end. A number of deliberations were held, encompassing such topics as "Will there be a second Steam Trek moving picture?" and "Which is the finer creation, Steam Trek or Doctor Whom?" In the evening a fancy dress party was held, with attendees attired in the out-fits worn by the crew in the moving picture, and one dressed up as some sort of pantomime outer space creature.

While I enjoyed my sojurn, I fear I will not attend again, for by the end of the convocation the main hall was so noisome as to make the streets of London smell of fresh lilacs by comparison.

Thanks for the post, seanm. That was better than I expected it to be- most "silent movies" still manage to look far too new.

katillathehun, I was surprised to see the party I'm going to this weekend posted on a UK site! Thanks for reminding me about BG- haven't checked it out in awhile.

That sounds like what a cross between Renn-Faire and a Trekkie convention. Like the worst of both worlds. And the best, because well, thast all the offer.

I forget where I was going with this.

I call BS. No officer of the SS Enterprise would ever be caught on the bridge in shirtsleeves.

[THIS IS SMASHING, OLD CHAP!]

Love the offhand musical references (the Kinks and Mission Impossible especially made me laugh).

I agree with TheWhiteSkull, and even if he was on the bridge in shirtsleves, no gentleman would have gone out without putting on his jacket. Shocking!

TheWhiteSkull, go climb a mountain.

(If anyone gets that it will be a miracle.)

Really, really liked the organ-grinder version of the Klingon Attack song! Cool find...
