Back when I used to watch any cartoon that was shown on TV, Deputy Dawg was pretty low on the preference totem pole.
Worthless trivia: Ralph Bakshi directed a few Deputy Dawgs. posted by Slack-a-gogo at 6:04 AM on June 26, 2007
One of those things that are better left to memory because seeing them now only goes to show I would have watched anything as a kid. Also, Deputy Dawg is no Go-Go Gophers. posted by DonnieSticks at 6:31 AM on June 26, 2007
I wanted to link to a much better dog as a deputy, Droopy in Deputy Droopy, the funniest damn cartoon of all time. But it isn't on YouTube! OUTRAGEOUS! posted by DU at 8:00 AM on June 26, 2007
Let's face it. DD can't hold a candle to Foghorn Leghorn. posted by JohnnyGunn at 8:06 AM on June 26, 2007
Well I loved Deputy Dawg, and this makes me remember watching channel 20 or 50 or something from Detroit back in the early 80's. There was a show that had Mighty Mouse, Deputy Dawg, and the Mighty Heroes. Or something like that. Anyway, Deputy Dawg was my favorite, and this rules. So suck it, haters. posted by greasepig at 8:10 AM on June 26, 2007
If it was the early 80s, greasepig, it would've been Channel 20. When I was growing up in the 1970s, though, Captain Detroit (and later Sgt. Sacto) showed those 'toons on Channel 50 in the afternoon.

Any toon that features a coon is fine by mine. posted by oncogenesis at 9:55 AM on June 26, 2007
The actor who plays Henry in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer has a voice exactly like Droopy's, fwiw. I'm not sure that film was meant to be that hilarious. posted by vbfg at 12:39 PM on June 26, 2007
