Fans of the modern classic shooter Warning Forever will be pleased with the latest game from Cactus Software, Fractal Fighter. Also try Cactus' last game, Clean Asia, a truly unique shooter that's so hard you'll cry like a baby. I'm assuming none of these run on OS X. Am I right? Also, this is the first time I've heard the term shmup. I lose.

This is great! I'm kinda surprised Torus Trooper wasn't listed on Shoot to the Core's website. Another excellent shooter.

Torus trooper is there! Maybe you didn't notice there are 7 pages of "T" shooters there.

And yes, these are for windows. There are precious few osx shooters, though Sketchfighter from ambrosia looked pretty nice.

Don't forget the latest game from the guy who made WF: Ray-Hound. It's got a unique flow to it—your ship has no offensive abilities of its own, but it can trap, deflect, and redirect enemy lasers. Which is good, because in the later stages of the game, there are a lot of lasers.

Sketchfighter is pretty awesome, although that first boss is a sonofabitch.

Someone needs to port Ikaruga to MacOS X.
