Please accept my apologies if this turns out to be a ski resort promotion.

Patial solution on some forum

No help on what this is for, though. The Whois says the registrant is:

Van Mantra
2205 Holly Pine Circle
Orlando, FL 32820
us

But, that seems to be a residential address, judging from Google results. Also, the name is probably fake, since Van Mantra is the name of a ski boot.
I really hope this isn't for a ski boot.

I managed to fumble my way through the first 2 puzzles - but the 3rd one is more of a game, which can get you stuck if you don't solve it properly. Alas, I could find no 'reset' button.

At any rate - the title of the post says "Ethan Hass" but the site says "Ethan Haas". A little birdie named Google tells me that's a character on some show called The Class but I don't know enough about the show to get any idea of wtf this whole thing is about.

Wicked awesome.

I solved the first puzzle and got a video that reminded me of the Lost Experience game thingy. Not in the mood to get started in another one of those. I'll just wait till it gets its own wikipedia page. I prefer just reading about the story as opposed to solving all the riddles. I'm happily lazy.

OK, I'll buy Halo 3 already!!!

It resets when you can no longer make a move.

And the 4th one uses the array keys.

It's suggested that this is a viral marketing site for J. J. Abrams' latest project, Cloverfield.

No, I mean it. I'm really sorry.

In fact. This is probably the sorriest I've been for a long time.
posted by tellurian at 8:35 AM on July 7, 2007

So what can I say. Sorry.
posted by tellurian at 8:36 AM on July 7, 2007

Actually, I've changed my mind. I'm not sorry. I was sucked in. Why shouldn't you be. I'm not sorry and this puzzle is hard. You're probably pissed off because you can't finish it even with the hints provided by tracert.
posted by tellurian at 8:56 AM on July 7, 2007

Can I also add that I'm sorry that I highjacked [spelling] 'Recent comments'.
posted by tellurian at 9:03 AM on July 7, 2007

Actually, I've changed my mind. I'm not sorry. 'Recent comments' is transient and possibly has no worth.
posted by tellurian at 9:14 AM on July 7, 2007

Okay. Who views by 'Recent comments'? Comment here if you do. I'm assuming that only those users that view by 'Recent comments' will comment here. I'm also assuming that if you don't view by 'Recent comments' that you won't comment here. (This may also be inaccurate because you may view by 'Recent comments' but choose not to leave a comment.) On the other hand because the thread is totally dead maybe no amount of 'Recent comments' gaming can bring any response. But let's just see, the chum is out.

Chum chuck in progress. Helen Duncan to be eaten, hopefully.

Now the Power Pop 4 Ever is top. Maybe this isn't the best idea. Still, must soldier on.

Right on. Back on top of 'Recent comments'. It's only a matter of time now.

Unless of course you are all watching the prelude to the Tour de France. How's that Cancellara?

Is there anything better than being top of "Recent comments'. I suspect so.
posted by tellurian at 10:28 AM on July 7, 2007

"Recent comments" rule.

I've never flagged so many consecutive comments in my life.

Maybe pick up a book? Mow the lawn?

Oh shit I have to mow the lawn.
posted by CitrusFreak12 at 10:47 AM on July 7, 2007

Book: I'm reading 'The Sword and the Cross' at the moment. It's about Foucald and Laperrine and their attempts to tame the Sahara and conquer North Africa.
Lawn: My whipper snipper is broken. My lawn is out of control.

Yeah, don't do that. I'm just about to reach for my favorite stranglin' rope over here.
posted by cortex at 11:21 AM on July 7, 2007

The flags or my comments are making you reach for the stranglin' rope?
If it's me, sorry cortex, but you're partly to blame for this. I'm going mad trying to craft a Shakesperian sonnet with Chord Studio for this Mefi Music thing.
posted by tellurian at 11:57 AM on July 7, 2007

The flagging-every-comment-in-a-thread thing, specifically, being as how it's useless (if a thread is fundamentally fucked, send an email or if it really merits discussion start a metatalk thread) and generates a big mess on the admin page.

Not that bizarre commenting streaks are something I should really encourage, mind, but that's a whole nother thing.
