Bush erases Scooter Libby's prison sentence. From his statement: "My decision to commute his prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby. The reputation he gained through his years of public service and professional work in the legal community is forever damaged."

How can he commute it twice? Does Libby have to spend 30 months in Tahiti now?

Can Bush be twice as evil? An interesting philosophical derail would follow, but it will not fit in the margins of this deletion.

Prison prison does seem kinda harsh. But you do get to spend an hour a day in regular prison.

The second commutation is for spending the rest of his life as a Republican. Nobody should have to live through that.

Now you see in a braided category a double commute can actually be quite interesting but I don't suppose we're doing category theory here.

No, this time he actually erased it. If you look carefully, you can just see the faint letters on the paper, but it's pretty much gone.

It seems bizarre to me in this day and age of fast information proliferation that something like this could go undiscussed for so long.

I had originally sentenced you to cutting sarcasm for your easily-searchable, obviously-would-have-been-posted-the-second-it-happened, day-late, newsfilter double; but I will commute your sentence to just mild derision.
