Well, I liked the idea but they didn't carry it off. You could have actually pulled a great three-minute B&W silent film that way -- but they'd introduce characters like Vader and then drop them...

I'm real sure this has been posted before, but it's a great clip. I'd love to see the idea fleshed out a lot more.

Would've been better if they'd actually done it chronologically. It jumps between the three too much. Sill a pretty cool concept though.

The music fits the Ewok scenes perfectly, which is not a compliment to the Ewok scenes.

The Star Wars movies actually work pretty well as silent movies already--there's a lot of purely visual storytelling, and they all end with an extended dialogue-free montage. I would love to see what Guy Maddin could do with this idea though.

Amazing how the effects look worse because we expect cheesy effects in silent movies.
