That is only the tip of the iceberg. Lots and lots of youtube videos grace the site of this New Hope for Humanity.

I liked the first two sentences of the "pole shift" link:

There are many quantifiable scientific indicators proving that the Earth and the Solar System are going through changes which have never previously occurred in recorded human history. Many psychics and channelers say that we have entered the beginning of a dimensional shift which is already deeply affecting all of our lives.

Never have dubious claim (many scientific indicators) and absolute cast-iron certainty (psychics and channelers think we'll meet a tall dark stranger) been such close bedfellows.

I really can't wait for New Year's Day 2013. I think I'll go to Terrence McKenna's grave and laugh at it. Mainly because he's the only one of these nuts who would have a sense of humor about it. It's a pity When Prophesy Fails is out of print.

Does anyone have links to any papers exploring why almost all conspiracy sites utilize the same aesthetic cliches? The CAPITALIZATION of CRITICAL WORDS is textbook schizo, but wouldn't the obsessive need to express world shattering truths lead to more dabbling with CSS layouts and less random use of the color tag, erratic justification, and loud backgrounds? I'm sure at least one psych major has explored this in a thesis paper at some point.

Thanks, Pastabagel, for the link. It made me laugh when a pop-up ad burst forth. Oh, Internet, is there nothing you can't out-banal? That thread on the Aug. 6th nuclear attack is priceless. I don't care if they're right and I die in nuclear hellfire tomorrow, that's a damn funny discussion.
