Don't forget, viacom and all the other big media companies want youtube to be paying for those staff to pre-emptively identify infringing material, without youtube actually knowing what belongs to who.

No. I used to dream of getting paid to make YouTube videos, but then I heard about their "partnership" program, and watched what it's doing to some people in there... Crazy. Now I'm dreaming of never actually becoming rich and famous through YouTube. It's a dream that is slightly easier to achieve. Who needs the headaches? I'm dreaming instead of aquiring a small but devoted following whose offspring will quietly take over the world long after you and I have shuffled off this mortal coil. Before that though, I'm dreaming of someday getting a better webcam. The people who are trying to become rich and famous through YouTube appear to slowly be turning into creepy weirdoes. I mean slightly moreso: any of us in there are at least slightly creepy weird in a good way, but some of them are veering into not-in-a-good-way creepy weirdo territory, and they're freaking me out. Except for Mark Day. He's all kinds of freakless cool to the seventh power any day of the week. Ooh! And guess who is wet-vlogging this week? Sweet!
