Is Nicholson Baker involved in this?!?
No, he's in some shed in New England chanting, "Leave them alone. Leave them alone. Leave them alone." posted by cog_nate at 4:32 PM on August 13, 2007
The interface is quick and easy but I have grown accustomed to the power of Thomas Gale Infotrac database of 19th century newspapers. They have an incredible selection of local newspapers which has really benefited me in my research. I will definitely give the LOC another look when they get further along in their project to have some local papers. posted by JJ86 at 6:10 PM on August 13, 2007
Results from the last link are very sketchy. In one area I searched, where I personally have a list of 30 or more newspapers published since 1690, it returns only 16. posted by beagle at 7:25 PM on August 13, 2007
This will be an amazing resource but it needs to be fleshed out with a lot more content. Which is the plan! posted by LarryC at 5:52 AM on August 14, 2007
Nifty. Yeah, this will be pretty useful when it's beefed up. posted by Smedleyman at 8:48 AM on August 14, 2007
