The Second Reincarnation of the Final Grandson of Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged. For those of us in constant search of universally meaningful insults, wowbagger delivers. The program is based on a character in Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", a character who, after an incident involving a time traveling machine and a piece of elastic band, became so pissed off at the universe that he sought to insult every creature in it, in alphabetical order.

That seems a reasonable assumption, since every other web server available is ultra-fast and has no problem serving as many thousands of hits per minute you care to throw at it no matter how lowly the hardware or bandwidth. Yessir, my Macintosh Plus behind a 300 baud modem once outperformed a 4-way Dell 6400 Pentium III-1300MHz on a T3 by a factor of ten thousand. The software? The Dell was running IIS. My Mac: custom web-server software, running on Dr. Scheme on a PC emulator. (I was also playing Tribes 2 and simulating a nuclear reaction in real-time on the Mac, so performance suffered a bit.) Zooooom!
